The Academy, a key institution for training elite diplomats and developing foreign policy and national security strategies, plays a leading role in strengthening Korea’s diplomatic capacity in line with its enhanced global standing and expectations of the international community.

One of the KNDA’s core missions since its establishment has been to nurture top-notch diplomats devoted to our nation and people. The KNDA is intensifying its efforts to foster elite diplomats through innovations in education and training programs to ensure that they acquire both professional expertise and a strong commitment to serving the nation.

In the current international security environment surrounding the Republic of Korea, which is characterized by complex crises, the KNDA is committed to enhancing research and development of mid- to long-term diplomatic policies and strategies for the government of the Republic of Korea, as well as to formulating timely and practical policy recommendations on diplomatic issues. These efforts are facilitated by close collaboration with eminent experts both at home and abroad.

Recognizing that even the most effective visions and policies cannot succeed without the understanding and support of the people, the Academy is actively engaged in public outreach. It takes the lead in managing public diplomacy initiatives to make diplomacy more accessible to the public, broaden the consensus on Korea’s foreign policy among citizens, and promote international support and positive perceptions of Korea’s diplomatic strategies.

KNDA will continue to diligently fulfill its mission and play a crucial role in helping the Korean government achieve its national goal of becoming a Global Pivotal State that contributes to freedom, peace and prosperity around the world.
